Session 1 · DESIGN: Give Value
Game day
- 10 minSet up game stations with instructions at the players' height.
- 30 minJuniors play. You observe and note one thing that worked and one to fix.
- 10 minAsk the junior teacher: did it help their learning?
Session 2 · DESIGN: Navigate Constraints
Ethics and trade-offs
- 15 minDiscuss: should we share our games online? What about privacy, copyright and comments?
- 15 minConstraints check: which ideas did you drop because of time, device or skill limits? Which trade-off was right?
- 20 minFinish your design journal: algorithm, bug log, play-test changes, one ethical choice you made.
Getting started
Complete the journal using the four headings.
Stretch
Write a short guide for next year's class: the three bugs everyone should watch out for.
Checkpoint
A played and improved game, and a journal that explains your algorithm, bugs and one ethical choice.
