Session 1 · CREATE: Exhibit
Pull the edition and make products
- 20 minPrint your edition: three to five prints that look the same. Reject any with smudges. Sign each in pencil under the image and number them (1/5, 2/5…).
- 25 minMake your pattern product: wrapping paper, cards, a tote bag panel or a banner square, using your chosen repeat.
- 5 minWrite a 50-word label: the motif, what it means, the process.
Session 2 · CREATE: Exhibit
Print fair
- 10 minSet up: editions pinned or framed, products on tables, labels and a 'How prints are made' demonstration table.
- 30 minPrint fair: visitors view the exhibition, try stamping at the demonstration table and receive or buy products (for koha to a cause the class chooses).
- 15 minReflect: which print or product got the strongest response, and why? What would you change in your block if you printed another edition?
Getting started
Print an edition of three and one product.
Stretch
Make a collaborative class banner where every student's motif sits in a repeat grid, and gift it to a community partner.
Checkpoint
A signed, numbered edition, one pattern product and a label that explains your motif.
