Submit and speak

  1. 20 minFinal edit: grammar, spelling, citations, formatting for the decision-maker (a submission form, a letter, or an article).
  2. 30 minSubmit or send. Then deliver your three-minute oral version in a class debate, a mock council hearing, or to the real panel.

Session 2 · AUTHOR: Respond

Reflect and follow up

  1. 15 minRead any replies, questions or outcomes. If none yet, write down when you expect to hear.
  2. 25 minReflection: what made your argument strong? Which objection was hardest to answer? What would you change?
  3. 10 minWrite a short thank-you or follow-up note to your decision-maker.

Getting started

Deliver the oral version with a partner, each presenting one reason.

Stretch

Write a follow-up response to a reply or to a published submission that disagrees with yours.
