Week 5 of 5

Make the Recharge Kit and judge the evidence

  2. 2
  3. 3
  4. 4
  5. 5

Session 1 · THRIVE: Value

Build the Recharge Kit

  1. 10 minShare out kit sections: sleep science, wind-down routine, taming screens, stress toolbox, handling change, saying no, where to get help.
  2. 30 minDraft your section for students about to start intermediate: short sentences, one clear picture or diagram, one thing to try tonight.
  3. 10 minGallery walk: leave one question and one suggestion on each section with sticky notes.

Session 2 · THRIVE: Evaluate

What did we learn, and does the kit work?

  1. 15 minFinish your five-day experiment: compare your log before and during. Did your recharger help? How sure are you?
  2. 15 minPool anonymous results: how many people found their recharger helped, made no difference, or were unsure? What does this tell us, and what doesn't it?
  3. 15 minTest the kit: read it with a buddy from a junior class or a visiting group, and note what they understood and what confused them.
  4. 10 minRevise the kit and plan how it will reach next year's new students and their whānau.

Getting started

Use a kit template with a heading, three bullet points and a picture box for each section.

Stretch

Write a short 'evidence note' for your section that explains where the facts came from and how you know they are trustworthy.

Checkpoint

A finished Recharge Kit tested with a younger audience, and every student can explain what their own experiment showed.
