Session 1 · CREATE: Transform
Shooting day
- 5 minCrew roles: animator, camera operator (only person to touch the device), director (checks the storyboard), continuity (watches for stray hands and moved props).
- 45 minShoot your film shot by shot. Lock the light (close curtains, use the lamp). Play back after each shot and reshoot anything that jumps.
- 5 minBack up your project to the school drive.
Session 2 · CREATE: Transform
Sound, edit and feedback
- 15 minFoley: record your own sound effects with objects (crunching foil for footsteps in snow, a flapping glove for wings).
- 15 minEdit: trim shots, add sound effects and music you made or sourced legally, and check the timing against your storyboard.
- 15 minShow your draft to another group, or to someone from your audience. Ask: what did you understand? Where did you get lost?
- 10 minMake at least two changes: reshoot a shot, retime a moment or fix a sound.
Getting started
Shoot the first three shots of your storyboard and add one sound effect.
Stretch
Add lip-sync: record a line of dialogue and change the character's mouth shape to match each sound.
Checkpoint
A rough cut with sound, feedback notes, and at least two changes made.
