Session 1 · CREATE: Exhibit

Titles, credits and the premiere plan

  1. 20 minMake an animated title (letters made of plasticine, paper or objects that move into place) and end credits listing every crew member's role and every sound source.
  2. 15 minExport your final film and watch it on the big screen. Check the sound level and that nothing is cut off.
  3. 15 minPlan the premiere: order of films, a host, a two-sentence introduction for each film, and questions for the audience.

Session 2 · CREATE: Exhibit

The premiere

  1. 5 minWelcome the audience and explain how stop motion works (bring a set and let visitors try one frame).
  2. 25 minScreen the films. Each group introduces its film and answers two audience questions.
  3. 10 minBehind-the-scenes table: sets, characters and storyboards on display.
  4. 15 minReflect: what did the audience react to most? What would you change if you had one more day?

Getting started

Finish a film of at least 20 seconds with a title and credits.

Stretch

Make a 'making of' film that shows your process for another class to learn from.

Checkpoint

A finished film with titles and credits, screened for its audience, and a written reflection.
