Session 1 · THRIVE: Tune In
Thriving together
- 10 minHook: what makes a team, whānau or class thrive, not just one person in it? Brainstorm on a big sheet.
- 10 minRead 'Wellbeing is a team sport'. Which of the Five Ways to Wellbeing does your class do well? Which does it miss?
- 20 minAnonymous class survey on four areas: movement, stress, belonging and kai and water. No names, and skip any question you like.
- 10 minTally the results as a class. Which gaps stand out?
Session 2 · THRIVE: Habits
What shapes the need?
- 15 minFactor iceberg: above the waterline is what you see (people alone at lunch); below it are the causes (personal, social, environmental, rules and routines).
- 20 minIn groups, choose a need and your context (class, team or community group) and build its iceberg.
- 15 minWrite one measurable goal: what will change, for whom, by how much, and how you'll count it.
Getting started
Choose from the three most common needs in the class survey, and use the goal frame: 'By the end of two weeks, … will … , measured by …'.
Stretch
Find a second source of evidence for your need, such as an observation at lunchtime or a conversation with the coach or group leader.
Checkpoint
Each group has a real need, a factor iceberg and one measurable goal.
