Session 1 · THRIVE: Relationships
Pressure, stereotypes and including everyone
- 10 minRead 'Speaking up and making space'. What makes it hard to speak up in a group?
- 20 minRole-play high-pressure moments your initiative might meet: a friend mocks it, a player refuses to join, someone is left out. Practise pausing, a rehearsed phrase and getting support.
- 10 minStereotype check: who might your idea suit, and who might it shut out (quieter students, different abilities, cultures, genders)?
- 10 minChange one part of the plan so more people can join.
Session 2 · THRIVE: Improve
Design the initiative
- 10 minLook at training principles (frequency, intensity, time, type) and how they apply to any habit or programme.
- 25 minPlan the two-week initiative: what, when, where, who leads, what you need, and two check-in points (day 4 and day 8).
- 10 minKererū asks one question about your plan. Discuss it as a group.
- 5 minSubmit the plan to your teacher (and group leader, if it's outside school) for approval.
Getting started
Use the initiative planner with the example of a lunchtime games club already filled in.
Stretch
Add a way for participants to give anonymous feedback, and a plan for what you'll do if nobody turns up.
Checkpoint
An approved, inclusive plan with clear roles and check-in points.
